Drew Bawcombe, MD

 

Dr. Bawcombe is a board certified, fellowship trained vitreo-retinal surgeon.  He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a full complement of retinal problems including diabetic retinopathy, macular pucker, macular hole, macular degeneration, and retinal detachment repair.  Dr. Bawcombe has active interests in retinal laser and imaging technology in diagnosing retinal diseases.  He completed his MD at University of Buffalo in 2005. 

 

He then attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he completed his preliminary year of medicine in 2006 and his ophthalmology residency in 2009.  Dr. Bawcombe served as Chief Resident for a one-year term during his residency program.

 

While a native of New York, he was excited at the chance to learn vitreo-retinal surgery at the University of Florida during a two year training period where he participated in hundreds of surgeries learning the most advanced procedures.
