Sarah Avila MD

 

Dr. Sarah Avila is an oculofacial plastic surgeon in Miami, Florida. After completing medical school, Dr. Avila completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City followed by a highly competitive two-year ASOPRS-accredited fellowship in reconstructive and cosmetic oculofacial surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. During this fellowship, Dr, Avila focused on plastic surgery related to the eyelids, brows, lacrimal duct system, orbit and face. 

Dr. Avila is one of only 700 surgeons nationwide to be admitted to the American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS). She is also a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the author of numerous publications and lectures nationally as well as internationally.

Dr Avila is an expert in surgical and non-surgical procedures around the eyes and face and prides herself in natural outcomes. She is the daughter of Brazilian parents and speaks both Portuguese and Spanish. Isi Esquenazi MD

md isi esquenaziDr. Isi Esquenazi received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida Honors program and his Doctorate in Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

He served his medical internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, and completed his ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine where he worked alongside leaders in ophthalmology in the world’s largest medical center. He completed his fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the New York Eye and Ear infirmary of Mount Sinai, one of the pioneering and most respected eye institutes in the country.

His clinical interests include premium laser cataract surgery, refractive surgery (LASIK), corneal transplantation, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and general ophthalmology. Dr. Esquenazi serves as a member of the Medical Advisory Committee for the Florida Lions Eye Bank located at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Esquenazi has also published several scientific peer reviewed manuscripts. He has received numerous awards for his surgical and research accomplishments. As a resident at Baylor he won the Goar Award twice for his excellence in research.

His memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Esquenazi enjoys spending time with his wife Danielle and their newborn son. He enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and is an avid golfer and sports fan.
